The Evaporate Sessions brought more than just the 9 songs that ended up on the record. Overall, there were 60 new songs written and recorded, and there was also this melancholic version of Bobby McFerrin’s Grammy Award winning song, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.”

Unlike McFerrin’s upbeat spin and acapella performance, the performance by Jeff Thomas in his version, “…don’t worry …be happy” is accompanied by piano, it’s slowed down. and it features subtle background vocals that can leave the message feeling like a ray of hope in an otherwise bleak environment.
